La Paz, laying at the bottom of a steep canyon and ringed by snow peaked mountains will take your breath away. Enjoy all the sights on the 4 day short stay to highest capital city in the world.

 

Day 1. On arrival into La Paz you will be met and transferred to your hotel. La Paz, the Bolivian Government seat is situated 3600 metres above sea level and surrounded by the majestic Corillera Andina. In the afternoon you will enjoy a magnificent city tour. You will visit museums, churches and the Cathedral, in the Colonial and Indian Baroque style. You will also visit the very special topography and erosions which form the Moon Valley. Here you will see moon like formations and a desert landscape not far from the centre of this capital city.

Day 2. A full day tour to the archaeological site of Tiwanaku. This remarkable site takes its name from one of the most important pre-Columbian civilisations in South America. Many believe that  Tiwanaku existed as early as 1600 BC. On your guided tour you will visit ruins and temples such as Kalasasya and the pyramids of Akapana and Puma Punku. Also see the aquaducts and gigantic monolithical monuments and the famous Gate of the Sun.

Day 3. Today is yours free to explore the many markets and interesting sights that you will find in La Paz. Why not look through the many shops on Sagarnaga Street. Or browse through the witches market on Lineas Street. Don’t forget to try the tasty Saltenas a Bolivian pastry filled with Chicken or Beef and Vegetables which are sold on the Plaza San Francisco. Or go to the main plaza around midday and watch the changing of the guard at the Presidencial Palace. Many exciting things to do to fill your day.
